Samuel Kotto loaned to Stade Reims

The Cameroonian central defender Samuel Kotto, 22, leaves KAA Gent to join Stade Reims, the French club announced on its official website. The loan will last for the remainder of the season and includes a purchase option.

Having previously played for Malmö FF, Kotto was then loaned out to BK Olympic, Landskrona BoIS and IFK Värnamo before being sold to Gent just over a year ago. With the Belgian side, he made 20 official appearances and also featured at the Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon.

The player also has four senior caps for Cameroon and was previously linked with a move to FC Barcelona this winter, though the transfer did not materialize.
