Samuel Portugal will join Gil Vicente on a permanent deal, leaving FC Porto.
According to O Jogo, he attended Sunday’s meeting between Gil Vicente and Rio Ave, which Luís Pinto’s side won 1-0, and has completed a medical. An announcement is expected in the coming hours.
The Brazilian spent four seasons with Porto but never made a first-team appearance, featuring 10 times for the B team.
At Gil Vicente, he will compete for the goalkeeper’s spot with Lucão and André Picornell.
Portugal made his name at Portimonense across two seasons before moving to Porto in 2022. Last season he was loaned to Al Akhdoud in Saudi Arabia, playing 27 matches. He began his career in Brazil at clubs such as Coritiba and Anápolis.
