San Diego FC sign Manu Duah to contract extension | OneFootball

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Extension

San Diego FC have signed defender Manu Duah to a long-term contract extension, the club announced Thursday.

The 21-year-old is now guaranteed through the 2029-30 season, with a club option for 2030-31.

"Manu has become an incredibly important player for this club, and we’ve been really impressed with the way he has continued to develop since joining San Diego FC," said sporting director Tyler Heaps. 

"He has embraced every challenge we’ve given him, taken significant steps in his game, and consistently shown that he can be relied upon at the highest level.

"This extension is something he has earned through his performances, his work every day, and the commitment he has shown to his development. We’re excited to continue supporting Manu as he takes the next steps in what we believe can be a very special career."

Duah has emerged as a key piece of San Diego's back line since being selected No. 1 overall (first round) in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft out of UC Santa Barbara.

The Ghanaian made 22 appearances (20 starts) across all competitions during his rookie campaign, including five starts during SDFC's run to the Western Conference Final of the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. He was subsequently ranked No. 15 on MLS's 2025 22 Under 22 Rankings.

Duah has taken on an even larger role in 2026, making 26 appearances (24 starts) across all competitions while contributing 1g/1a. His first professional goal came in San Diego's 4-1 Concacaf Champions Cup victory over Pumas UNAM in February.
