Toronto FC have acquired winger Lewis Morgan from San Diego FC, the clubs announced Wednesday.

In exchange, San Diego receive a 2026 international roster slot.

The 29-year-old Scotland international is in his seventh MLS season, having previously represented Inter Miami CF (2020-21) and Red Bull New York (2022-25). Across his MLS career, Morgan has netted 34g/25a in 139 league appearances.

Enjoying stints at St. Mirren and Celtic in his native Scotland and Sunderland in England before moving stateside, Morgan was named the 2024 MLS Comeback Player of the Year with Red Bull.

“We are happy to add Lewis at this time. He has established himself as an impactful attacker in the Eastern Conference over the past several seasons,” said Toronto general manager Jason Hernandez. “His flexibility to play across multiple positions in the attack will be a valuable quality for our group moving forward.”

Internationally, Morgan has earned seven caps for Scotland, including appearing at the 2024 European Championship.

Morgan is Toronto's third summer signing following German midfielder Niklas Dorsch and homegrown defender Richard Chukwu.

Toronto FC are 10th in the Eastern Conference, level with Orlando City on 25 points for the final Wild Card position. San Diego, meanwhile, sit eighth in the Western Conference on 30 points.
