San Lorenzo confirmed on Wednesday the departure of Colombian defender Jhohan Romaña after the parties failed to agree terms for him to stay beyond 2026. The club said in a statement that he will continue his career with León in Mexico.
The new board, led by Marcelo Culotta, had offered the centre-back a substantially improved extension to a deal that ran until December 2026.
The Argentine and Mexican clubs agreed a fee of 800,000 dollars, with Romaña to join León in the coming hours. San Lorenzo will retain 10 percent of any future sale of the 27-year-old centre-half.
Romaña has also signed a document confirming the club owe him nothing, so he will not be able to make related claims in future.
Since arriving two years ago, he has played 104 matches for San Lorenzo, scoring two goals and providing two assists. He did not win a trophy.
