San Lorenzo returned to work on the final Saturday of December, a sweltering day, with six absentees and the unveiling of an interim board led by Sergio Constantino. Colombian defender Jhohan Romaña was the headline omission.
According to SuperDepor.com, Romaña missed training with the head coach Damián Ayude’s permission due to personal paperwork. His absence drew notice given River Plate’s interest and offers from abroad.
Nery Domínguez, Emanuel Cecchini and Andrés Vombergar also requested leave from the coaching staff. Meanwhile, Facundo Altamirano and Diego Herazo will not rejoin training until their contractual situation with the club is normalised.
Interim president Constantino visited the Bajo Flores complex to greet the squad.
He said the leadership would put heart, energy and feeling into putting the club in order, adding that if they can build a united working team and act with honesty, he is confident they can achieve that.
The replacement for Marcelo Moretti was accompanied by Director of Football Carlos Roca Sánchez, vice-president Valeria Carta Moglietta and secretary Martín Saiz.
