A San Luis player assaulted the referee during their Tercera Asturfútbol match against Llanera B at Pepe Quimarán. The club said in a statement that it would not condemn the incident, arguing refereeing decisions fostered such behaviour and that the player will not be dropped. The statement also listed complaints including a 20-minute wait at the gate, a lack of water, their coach's dismissal, racist insults towards their number 23, and misogynistic comments and threats towards directors.

The flashpoint came in minute 77 with the score at 2-2, when a penalty was awarded to Llanera B for a foul.

The San Luis player struck the Oviedo referee, aged about 32, in the neck, knocking him to the turf before team-mates intervened.

He was not seriously injured and finished the match.

San Luis coach Marco Antonio Iglesias was dismissed after telling an assistant he would kill him. A later row in the Llanera dressing room over water ended when the local delegate supplied bottles, with no further incidents.
