San Patricio de Trevelin has signed a Plan Galina agreement guaranteeing public funds to build an illuminated 20 by 40 metre synthetic five-a-side pitch, a major step for the club’s youngsters and facilities.
According to SuperDepor.com, president Eric Lorenzi said the first tranche has arrived, securing material prices, with funding covering the turf and specific lighting.
The pitch will meet five-a-side rules, with installation by specialist staff from the manufacturer. The club is coordinating groundworks with the Secretaría de Obras Públicas, led by Rubén Zapata, and Vialidad Provincial.
Works include filling and levelling, then an asphalt primer before laying the carpet. The site currently lacks public lighting, and power approval for the pitch depends on general illumination across the grounds.
Lorenzi said the cost is significant, and talks are under way with Chubut Deportes and the provincial Ministry of Infrastructure to finance this. He added they have committed to inaugurating the pitch before the end of the year.
He expects the facility to raise rental income and end the scramble for training space, while a roof is envisaged later for winter. He also praised ‘Tito’ Ruiz, coaches and parents who raise funds and drive to tournaments in Esquel, Tecka and elsewhere. Recent results include the C17 title in the Esquel Futsal League on Sunday, with entries lined up for Tecka’s anniversary tournament, the regional Lala Gym event this weekend, and a mid July trip to El Maitén.
