Santos announce signing of Rodinei on contract to 2027 | OneFootball

Santos have announced the signing of right-back Rodinei following his departure from Olympiacos of Greece.

The club said in a post that he has signed a contract to the end of 2027.

Rodinei's Olympiacos deal had been due to run until June 2027, but he secured a cost-free termination to return to Brazil, enabling a swift agreement with Santos.

He arrives ready to compete for a place immediately and will have the chance to reunite with Gabigol and William Arão, former Flamengo team-mates already at the club.

Rodinei spent 2016 to 2022 at Flamengo, including a loan at Internacional between 2020 and 2021.

Across 223 appearances he scored nine goals and supplied 18 assists, winning two Libertadores, one Brasileirão, one Copa do Brasil and two Cariocas.

In 2022 he converted the decisive penalty in the Copa do Brasil final against Corinthians at the Maracanã. That same year his exchange with Everton Ribeiro led to a cross for Gabigol’s winner against Athletico-PR in Ecuador, sealing Flamengo’s third Libertadores title.

Flamengo, coached by Leonardo Jardim, face Mirassol at 19:30 Brasília time on Wednesday, a rescheduled Brasileirão fourth-round match at the Maracanã.
