Santos have been charged by the STJD over a spitting incident that struck Mirassol left-back Reinaldo during Sunday’s 2026 Brasileirão match at Vila Belmiro, in round 24.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the case will be heard on Thursday 27 at nine in Rio de Janeiro.

The accusation is under article 213, which covers a club’s failure to prevent and suppress disorder, pitch invasions or objects being thrown onto the field.

Sanctions range from a fine of R$100 to R$100,000. In serious cases, or if the incident disrupts the event, the club can lose home advantage for one to 10 matches.

Santos have identified the person responsible for the spitting, an attenuating factor in the case. The club condemned the behaviour and will take the appropriate measures.
