Santos' Deliberative Council meets on Tuesday evening to consider the Fiscal Council's report on the club's first-quarter 2026 accounts. According to Diario Do Peixe, the session will review the findings and recommendations.
The report states the club's debt reached R$ 1.163.739.000,00, which differs from the R$ 1.094.039.000 submitted by the club to the Fiscal Council. The council says total liabilities should have been recognised at R$ 1.163.739.000,00.
It also highlights a dispute with the executive board over the debt renegotiation agreement, a confession of debt, with Neymar Jr. The club agreed to pay R$ 90 million to NR Sports in 48 instalments and offered the CT Meninos da Vila as collateral.
Club accountants treat the amounts as monthly image-rights obligations, recorded gradually under ITG 2003 and the Manual de Contabilidade para Entidades Esportivas. The Fiscal Council argues the signed confession created a formal liability with terms, penalties and guarantees, to be booked in full and split between short and long term, citing NBC TG Estrutura Conceitual and NBC TG 26 (R5).
Santos posted a deficit of R$ 50.586.186 in the first quarter. Revenue totalled R$ 212.822.457, with R$ 102.421.309 from player transfers. The standout deal was the sale of left-back Souza to Tottenham.
