Santos’ health department coordinator Rodrigo Zogaib has confirmed Neymar has a minor issue in his right calf, adding the plan is for him to report to the Brazil national team with no limitations on 27.

According to Globo.com, the oedema measures two millimetres, which would typically require five to 10 days of treatment.

He sustained the problem in the second half of Sunday’s 3-0 loss to Coritiba in Itaquera in the Brasileirão, and needed a calf massage after feeling discomfort.

He has been receiving treatment at CT Rei Pelé and with his personal staff, with the CBF following the process closely.

Santos say he could even feature on Tuesday against Deportivo Cuenca at Vila Belmiro in the final round of the Copa Sul-Americana, although a run-out for the club before he reports to coach Carlo Ancelotti appears unlikely.

This season Neymar has played 15 times for Santos, scoring six and assisting four, and completed the full 90 in ten matches.
