According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have made an enquiry for Racing Club centre-back Marco Di Cesare, with the move being assessed cautiously by the coaching staff.

The board considered him after he lost minutes at Racing and was offered to the market. Head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda intends to study his profile before any approval, mindful of a short, decisive window.

A potential loan would cost around 700,000 dollars, about R$ 3 million, with an option to buy at 5 million dollars, roughly R$ 25 million at the end of the term.

Di Cesare has been on Vila Belmiro’s radar before and is being revisited as the club seeks targeted solutions. At 24, he is noted for his passing, mobility and comfort in a high line. The decision will also weigh sporting and financial factors.

Santos are up against time, with the window open until 3 March to make up to three additions, one centre-back and two defensive midfielders. The hierarchy are working on multiple fronts to meet squad needs before the deadline.

A graduate of Argentinos Juniors, he joined their academy in 2018 and debuted in 2020, making 48 appearances including the 2023 Copa Libertadores before moving to Racing. There he helped win the 2024 Copa Sudamericana and made the competition’s team of the tournament, then lifted the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana. By early 2026 he had more than 47 outings for Racing and featured for Argentina’s youth sides, starting the Under-23 Pre-Olympic and making the Paris 2024 Olympic squad.
