Santos fans hung protest banners at CT Rei Pelé and Vila Belmiro overnight from Monday to Tuesday as frustration over the team’s form grew.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the unrest follows six matches without a win this season, three draws and three defeats, including a 2-0 loss to São Paulo at Morumbis on Saturday 31.
After a day off on Sunday, the squad reported back on Monday afternoon. Before training began, members of an organised supporters’ group entered CT Rei Pelé to express their anger.
Banners targeted president Marcelo Teixeira and football executive Alexandre Mattos. There was also criticism of the signing of forward Brahimi, who has played only 26 minutes for Santos, earns about R$ 900,000, and was recently loaned to Estrela Amadora in Portugal.
Other messages demanded clarity on the club’s reconstruction project, a slogan adopted by Marcelo Teixeira since 2024. SAF and the arena were described as smokescreens, alongside complaints about sales of young players, signings seen as offering little sporting return, and spending by the current board.
Part of the protest addressed the fanbase, urging more support and fewer boos, particularly in the numbered seats. Some banners also framed Wednesday as a battle, referencing the home meeting with São Paulo at Vila Belmiro in round two of the Brasileiro.
In the Paulista, Santos are outside the quarter-final places with two group games left. In the Brasileiro, they opened with a 4-2 defeat to Chapecoense.
