Santos fined R$ 10,000 for delays against Coritiba and Palmeiras in Copa do Brasil | OneFootball

Santos have been fined R$ 10,000 for delays in two Copa do Brasil ties, the fifth Disciplinary Commission of the STJD ruled on Monday.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the club were punished under article 206 of the CBJD, which sets fines of R$ 100 to R$ 1,000 per minute.

The first case concerned the 0-0 draw with Coritiba at Vila Belmiro on 22 April, when nine minutes of effective delay brought a R$ 9,000 penalty.

Referee Bruno Arleu de Araujo recorded an eight minute protocol delay that pushed kick-off back by six minutes, plus a three minute delay to the second-half restart.

The second ruling covered the 3-0 defeat to Palmeiras at Nubank Parque on 26 August, with one minute of effective delay leading to a R$ 1,000 fine. Arleu officiated both fixtures.

Dr Heitor Trados represented Santos in both hearings.

This year the club have paid R$ 71,000 in disciplinary fines across Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil, and were separately hit with R$ 8,000 for objects thrown against Atlético-MG.

The STJD also rejected a bid to annul the Coritiba game, while goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão received a warning and forward Gabriel Barbosa was banned for one match for an obscene gesture against Vitória.
