According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have completed maintenance on the Vila Belmiro pitch after a series of high-tech interventions, and released fresh images of the surface, with the stadium being readied for matches after the World Cup.
The first game back at the ground is against Chapecoense on 25 July at 18:30, in the 20th round of the Brasileiro.
The work follows a staged agronomic plan that includes winter seeding, sand topdressing, fertilisation and mowing. Closer to the match, the soil will be decompacted, and the aim is to deliver an even better playing surface.
World Sports, responsible for the Vila Belmiro and CT Rei Pelé pitches, carried out significant interventions that would usually take place during the season. The objective is to provide a safe, uniform surface in the best possible condition for training and matches.
At CT Rei Pelé, the same procedures were applied on pitches two and three. Winter overseeding with ryegrass was used to offset slower growth of summer species, alongside replanting worn areas and correcting stud impacts to improve surface drainage and ensure smooth ball roll.
