Santos are negotiating a loan for centre-back Alexis Duarte to Libertad of Paraguay, with the length of the deal still under discussion.
According to Globo.com, the Paraguayan defender has been allowed by the club to seek a move after finding no space in the squad, and MLS clubs in the United States have made enquiries about a possible permanent transfer.

If a sale does not happen now, the plan is to loan him until mid-year to try to recover the investment in the next transfer window.
Duarte joined Santos for 4 million dollars in September last year but has struggled to make an impact.
The club are working to conclude a deal in the coming days and settle the defender’s future.
