Santos in talks with Corinthians to host Coritiba at Neo Química Arena | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Santos are negotiating with Corinthians to stage their 17 May meeting with Coritiba at Neo Química Arena, kick-off 11:00 Brasília time, in the 16th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

The club have also opened talks with the CBF to move the fixture from Vila Belmiro to the São Paulo capital.

The Itaquera venue will be available that day, as Corinthians play Botafogo in Rio de Janeiro on the same date.

The match will be Santos and Neymar’s final outing before Carlo Ancelotti names Brazil’s 26-man World Cup squad. The Italian coach will finalise his list on 18 May.

Santos’ board want to take more home games to the capital, and they maintain a good relationship with Corinthians’ hierarchy.

The May date also fits a request from Cuca, who wants early matches at Vila Belmiro. Switching this game would give the coaching staff breathing space to follow their plan.
