According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have agreed to loan midfielder Sandry to Criciúma until the end of the season. With his contract set to expire this year, he will be a free agent after a Série B campaign with the Tigre.

Santos had already told him he was not in Pedro Caixinha's plans and he had been training apart from the squad. He was previously reluctant to go on loan, rejecting Mirassol, and last year joined Athletic, delivering three assists in 31 games.

In 2024 he made 12 appearances and recorded one assist in Série B. He returned in June in a 3-1 defeat to Novorizontino at Jorge de Ismael in the ninth round of the Brasileirão, his first match since a left ACL rupture on 10 August 2023.

Born in 2002, Sandry came through Santos' academy and debuted in a 4-1 win over Red Bull Bragantino at Nabi Abi Chedid in the Campeonato Paulista on 31 January 2019. He has 106 senior appearances for the club.

His injury record includes an ACL tear in his right knee in April 2021, returning in November. In February 2023, an elbow from Marzagão caused facial fractures that required surgery and a later procedure for infection, and two months after his June return he suffered the left ACL injury. He has four assists in 106 games for Santos.
