Santos move closer to signing Everton Cebolinha from Flamengo | OneFootball

Santos are close to signing forward Everton Cebolinha, 30, on a deal to the end of the season on terms similar to recent arrivals Arthur and Lima.

According to Globo.com, he will terminate his Flamengo contract, which runs until December, and his Santos agreement includes an option to extend for two years if both sides agree.

Santos are pushing to register new recruits quickly. Arthur and Lima made their debuts against Inter, with only right-back Rodinei yet to appear.

Cebolinha was with Flamengo’s squad in Belém but was allowed to return to Rio de Janeiro. He has 12 Brasileirão appearances, the maximum before a domestic switch, and must finalise paperwork with the club.

Santos had pursued Cebolinha since last year but were pessimistic as European and Brazilian sides also made approaches, and at one stage the board were ready to give up.
