Flamengo thank Botafogo with ‘Obrigado, amigo’ after going top of Brasileirão | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Flamengo thanked Botafogo for their “help” in a playful social post after Sunday’s results lifted them to the top of the Brasileirão.

The Rio side hit the summit for the first time in this year’s competition by beating Remo away on Sunday, moving to 54 points. Palmeiras have 53 after drawing with Botafogo.

The club posted a carousel of images, led by a handshake scene from the cartoon “Pica-pau” with the clubs’ crests on the characters and the caption: “Obrigado, amigo”.

Another image showed the storefront of a Baixada Fluminense fireworks shop, “Mengão Fogos”, which carries Flamengo’s nickname alongside Botafogo’s crest.

The remaining frames included a person interacting with a vulture, apparently AI-generated, and a person in a vulture costume dancing with three women.
