According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos have confirmed their starting XI for the Campeonato Brasileiro opener, making five changes from the team that faced Red Bull Bragantino. The coaching staff have opted for targeted tweaks to seek greater balance at the start of the national campaign.
Gabriel Brazão keeps his place in goal. In central defence, Alexis Duarte makes his first appearance of the season alongside the retained Luan Peres.
On the right, Igor Vinícius returns after missing the last match. On the left, Vinícius Lira is back to complete the back four.
João Schmidt comes back into midfield, while Gabriel Menino and Zé Rafael remain to drive the build-up.
In attack, Miguelito and Lautaro Díaz stay in the side, with Caballero restored to complete the front three.
The opener arrives amid scrutiny after an inconsistent start in the Campeonato Paulista, and the Brasileiro is viewed internally as a chance to reset performances and results.
Santos XI: Gabriel Brazão, Igor Vinícius, Alexis Duarte, Luan Peres, Vini Lira, João Schmidt, Gabriel Menino, Zé Rafael, Caballero, Lautaro Díaz, Miguelito.
