According to Globo Esporte, lawyers for Robinho Junior, an 18-year-old forward, have notified Santos they could terminate his contract if no action is taken.

Robinho Junior alleges Neymar insulted and slapped him during the confrontation.

Despite recurring fitness issues, Neymar, 34, still hopes to be called by coach Carlos Ancelotti for the World Cup from 11 June to 19 July. He has not played for Brazil since October 2023.

The Seleção’s record scorer with 79 goals, two more than Pelé, will learn his fate when the final list is published on 18 May.

Robinho, 42, a former team-mate of Neymar at Santos, is currently jailed in Brazil after being convicted in Italy of gang rape.
