According to Globo.com, half-time of Santos v São Paulo at Vila Belmiro, in the second round of the Campeonato Brasileiro, became a protest as an organised group targeted president Marcelo Teixeira and executive director Alexandre Mattos.
The group had stayed silent throughout the first half, then unfurled banners attacking the club's leadership and the Military Police, the latter over the death of fan Alex Nunes Pinheiro do Carmo, known as Acarajé, at Neo Química Arena. Chants singled out the pair and questioned the club's management model.
The outcry came minutes after Santos had taken the lead, Zé Rafael making it 1-0 in first-half stoppage time.
After the 1-1 draw, further protests followed outside near gate 16, by the access to the Vila Belmiro boxes. Teixeira remained the primary target, while supporters also demanded reinforcements for the squad led by Vojvoda.
A large share of those in the ground joined the calls and criticism.
