Santos returned to training on Wednesday at CT Rei Pelé after beating Deportivo Cuenca 3-0 to clinch a Copa Sul-Americana play-off spot. Pepê Firmino trained with the first team ahead of the meeting with Vitória.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the starters remained indoors for recovery work in the gym, while the rest took part in technical and tactical drills on the pitch under Cuca.
The Under-20 forward missed the Meninos da Vila’s draw with Botafogo in the youth Brasileirão to join the professionals and is expected to be named in the squad. The Vitória match is on Saturday at 20:00 at Vila Belmiro in the 18th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
Christian Oliva and Benjamín Rollheiser continue treatment for physical issues and will be assessed daily in a bid to be available at the weekend.
Gabriel Menino is recovering from a right thigh muscle injury. João Schmidt and Thaciano are also treating muscular problems and are only expected to return after the World Cup break.
Gustavo Henrique is ruled out after his red card in the defeat to Grêmio, so he serves an automatic suspension against Vitória.
Santos sit 17th on 18 points, the top place in the relegation zone. The clash with the Bahia side carries added weight before the league pauses for the World Cup.
