Santos aim to secure their first run of three straight wins this season against Macará on Thursday. According to Diario Do Peixe, Cuca's team hold a 2-1 first-leg lead in the Copa Sudamericana last 16.

They beat the Ecuadorian side 2-1 at Vila Belmiro on Thursday 13. They then won 3-0 at Vasco in São Januário on Sunday 16, in round 23 of the Brasileirão.

The return is at 19:00 on Thursday 20 at Estádio Bella Vista in Ambato, Ecuador. Santos must handle altitude and confirm their advantage to reach the quarter-finals.

They last managed three wins on the spin in December last year, across the final three league rounds. Those results avoided relegation and Neymar stood out.

The victories were 3-0 against Sport at Vila Belmiro, Juventude at Alfredo Jaconi, and Cruzeiro at Vila.

In 2026, their only back-to-back wins came in May. One pair was against Coritiba in the Copa do Brasil and Bragantino in the league, the other against Cuenca in the Sudamericana and Vitória in the league.

This year’s longest unbeaten run is seven matches. It featured draws with Bahia, Palmeiras, Recoleta, San Lorenzo and Coritiba in a Copa do Brasil first leg, plus wins over Coritiba in the return and Red Bull Bragantino in the league.

The year before last brought a longer 10-game unbeaten run in Série B, from June to August 2024. That stretch included wins over Goiás, Chapecoense, Ceará, Ituano and Paysandu, draws with Mirassol, Vila Nova, CRB and Sport, and a big win against Coritiba, before defeat to Avaí.
