According to Diario Do Peixe, Santos will receive 700,000 dollars, about R$ 3.6 million, for reaching the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals. Cuca's side advanced after a 2-1 aggregate win over Ecuador's Macará in the last 16.

The club have now banked 2.225 million dollars in total prize money from the competition.

They earned 300,000 dollars for taking part in the group stage, where each win paid 125,000 dollars, and they beat Deportivo Cuenca.

Progression to the playoff round brought in a further 500,000 dollars, then 600,000 dollars followed for reaching the last 16.

Prize money rises to 800,000 dollars for the semi-finals, 2.5 million dollars for runners-up and 10 million dollars for the champions.
