According to Meu Timao, São Paulo state prosecutors have opened an investigation into alleged irregularities in Corinthians’ hiring of Mega Assessoria Operacional Ltda for armed security at Parque São Jorge in September and October 2025, with no signed contract and invoices totalling R$ 676,000.
The order, signed by prosecutor Cássio Conserino, will examine possible offences including theft, false statements and tax crimes. Cited indicators include the absence of Federal Police and Army permits and the company’s listed address being a private residence.
Investigators also noted sequential invoices 01, 02 and 03 issued in quick succession, with no other records. One invoice named the firm as both provider and client, which the MP called a clear irregularity.
Named as principal suspects are Fernando José da Silva, then the club’s operational manager in whose name the firm was registered, and administrative director Fábio Soares Souza, who is alleged to have requested its creation. Ricardo Okabe is cited as consenting to the set-up.
The MP has ordered Corinthians to supply formal documents on the engagement and details of Fernando’s activities. The company will be checked with the Federal Revenue, and Fernando and Fábio are due to give evidence on 26 May.
Mega was created on 3 July 2025 by Fernando and informally engaged by the club between September and October while Osmar Stabile was interim president. Fernando first said Fábio asked him to open the firm to pay newly hired guards at Parque São Jorge, then said the request came from Stabile after two prior providers were removed over alleged organised crime links. He said it was an emergency measure to pay retired military police, until payments were halted when Okabe flagged governance concerns.
