Renzo Saravia has spent more than a month at Valencia without making his debut, and his window to impress is narrowing. The Argentine full-back joined as an emergency signing after Foulquier’s serious injury on a deal to June, according to AS.
He had hoped to earn a longer stay within months, yet his first outing keeps slipping. In Seville he was left disappointed, expecting to feature after a late injury to Thierry Rendall, but Corberán held him back and switched to a back five at the Pizjuán with Unai Núñez on the right.
Saravia might have been an option, only his lack of match rhythm prompted a different plan. He has been running a personal pre-season for over a month and, at the earliest, will have to wait until April after the international break. That would leave him two months to prove he fits next season’s project.
At his unveiling he said it would be a dream to belong to the club for a long time. Corberán has publicly backed him, citing Max Aarons as an example, the January arrival last season who played only four matches, 118 minutes in total, yet performed well at the Bernabéu in a winning display.
Saravia remains confident he can convince once the first chances come. The break is helping him sharpen up, with Celta on the horizon.
