Sassuolo sign Duje Caleta-Car and take Ibrahim Sulemana on loan with option to buy | OneFootball

Sassuolo have completed the permanent signing of Duje Caleta-Car and taken Atalanta midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana on loan.

According to Football Italia, further business could still be done before the 19.00 UK time, 20.00 CEST, deadline.

Caleta-Car joins from Olympique Lyonnais for a nominal fee. The Croatia centre-back turns 30 later this month and has played for RB Salzburg, Southampton, Olympique Marseille and Real Sociedad. He has 38 caps and was in Croatia’s 2026 World Cup squad in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

The midfielder joins on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season for a reported fee. He has signed his contract.

Edoardo Iannoni has been sold to Hellas Verona, while Filippo Missori joins Avellino on loan with an option to buy.

Tommaso Macchioni moves to Carrarese on loan and Kevin Miranda to Cerignola. Fabrizio Caligara has signed for Catania, and Patrick Nuamah heads to Sabadell FC on loan with an option to buy.
