Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen endured a difficult 2024/25 campaign, spending the majority of it out on the sidelines due to multiple injuries.
The 29-year-old centre-half did return to action towards the end of the season and adapted seamlessly to Hansi Flick’s tactical setup.
Despite that, question marks persist over the Danish centre-back’s future at Barcelona, with his contract expiring in 2026.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen is a candidate to leave Barcelona this summer. The former Chelsea star, whose season has been largely overshadowed by injuries, remains a valued player in the Saudi Pro League.
Although there has not yet been a formal offer, signals have already reached Barça indicating strong interest from Saudi Arabia, and proposals are expected in the coming months.

With both the centre-back and defensive midfield positions – Christensen’s two roles – already well covered, Barcelona would welcome his departure.
The defender arrived on a free transfer, is on a high salary, and any transfer fee would count as full profit for the club.
However, like many players, Christensen has not shown much willingness to leave Barcelona this summer.
The Blaugrana suspect the Dane may prefer to see out his contract and leave on a free transfer once again. Still, with the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the horizon, it remains to be seen whether he will maintain that stance.
