Real Madrid may be looking unstoppable in the summer transfer window so far in terms of signings, but the Vinicius Jr. situation is causing them a lot of headaches.

Los Blancos are in a stalemate with the Brazilian superstar over a potential contract extension this summer, and clubs like Arsenal have started circling.

Now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Vinicius remains one of Saudi Arabian football’s biggest ambitions, with leading figures still hoping they can eventually convince the Real Madrid superstar to make the move.

Al Ahli would be the most likely destination if Vinicius ever became open to leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Brazilian was offered an extraordinary five-year contract worth €1 billion last year, highlighting the scale of Saudi Arabia’s long-term interest.

Saudi interest has not disappeared

Despite Vinicius remaining a key part of Real Madrid’s project, the Saudi Pro League have not abandoned their pursuit.

The money they are offering might also be the reason the 26-year-old superstar is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal in the Spanish capital.

Vinicius has less than 12 months left on his current contract, and should he refuse to extend his deal, Los Blancos run the risk of losing him for free next summer.

The Brazilian winger continues to be one of the club’s biggest stars and an essential part of Jose Mourinho’s plans.

At his best, he remains capable of deciding the biggest matches through his pace, creativity and ability to produce moments of individual brilliance.

However, in this scenario, Real Madrid are negotiating from a position of weakness.

A story that will not disappear

Saudi Arabia’s financial might means that this story will not disappear for the time being.

Arsenal coming into the picture is interesting, as the Premier League champions are known to have a rigid wage structure and will have to break it to sign Vinicius.

As long as the Brazilian remains one of football’s biggest global stars, he will be linked with record-breaking offers.

Ultimately, this will only end if Real Madrid get him to agree to a deal or if another club convinces him to join them. It remains to be seen how this transfer saga plays out in the summer.
