SC Elversberg closing in on free agent Luca Sirch from Kaiserslautern

As reported by Sport BILD, Luca Sirch will undergo a medical examination at SV Elversberg today, Monday 20 July.

Should he pass his medical, the newly promoted Bundesliga club from the Saarland will sign the 1.FC Kaiserslautern centre-half.

Elversberg will also have prevailed over competitors 1.FC Union Berlin, Hannover 96, SC Paderborn and VfL Wolfsburg for the defender.

Sirch will join Elversberg on a free transfer after his contract with second division outfit Kaiserslautern expired on 30 June.

The versatile player is expected to contribute to Elversberg's defense in every way possible to help them avoid relegation.

It would also mark a stunning rise in the 27-year-old's career who was playing in the sixth-tier Landesliga not that long ago.
