Scarlett Camberos nominated for 2026 Ballon d'Or | OneFootball

Scarlett Camberos has been shortlisted for the 2026 Ballon d'Or, as Club América featured prominently in the awards announcement.

According to Americayya.net, the América Femenil player is among the 30 nominees for the women's prize, presented annually to the best player in the world.

Her nomination follows a standout year for América Femenil, who won every title available, most notably the Concacaf W Champions Cup. That triumph made América the first Mexican team to lift the competition.

Camberos is the first Mexican woman to make the top 30, a feat achieved while playing for a Mexican club at a time when the shortlist is usually dominated by Europe or the United States.

On the same day, América Femenil were also shortlisted for best team in the world, up against Barcelona of Spain, OL Lyonnes of France, Manchester City of England and Bayern Munich of Germany.
