Schalke have extended 19-year-old midfielder Luca Vozar’s contract until 2029. The club announced the deal on 17 September.
Vozar made his Bundesliga debut in the 0-0 draw with FC Bayern, replacing Dejan Ljubicic in the 74th minute.
A product of Schalke’s academy, he captained the club’s U-19 side last season. The Royal Blues rate his potential and have moved to secure him long term.
In the announcement, director of football Youri Mulder called him a further example of the Schalke youth academy pathway, noting Vitalie Becker and Mertcan Ayhan moved into the first team last season and that Vozar followed this summer.
Mulder praised the teenager’s technique and game intelligence, highlighted his precise set-piece delivery and a powerful left foot, and said the club will continue to guide his development. He added that the squad appreciates Vozar.
