Norway coach Ståle Solbakken has renewed concerns over Andreas Schjelderup’s lack of minutes at Benfica and issued a warning to the club’s hierarchy with the World Cup approaching. The winger has been losing ground in José Mourinho’s squad.

"Schjelderup is in a difficult situation and I hope they find a solution," said the Norway manager, speaking to NRK. "It is a pressing case."

He also highlighted other Norway internationals short of game time and, with the World Cup near, suggested they consider winter moves to secure more minutes.

"Both Schjelderup and Bobb need to have a serious conversation with their clubs," he added. In the case of the No 21, Parma showed interest in a loan, but the Norwegian was not convinced by the project.

This season for Benfica, Schjelderup, valued at 14 million euros, has played 22 matches, 11 in Liga Portugal Betclic, six in the Champions League, four in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga. Across 985 minutes he has scored two goals and provided three assists.
