Schlager fit to lift RB Leipzig midfield for Stuttgart clash

RB Leipzig have been handed a lift ahead of Sunday’s Bundesliga meeting with VfB Stuttgart, with Xaver Schlager available after a two-game injury lay-off.

According to BuLi News, coach Ole Werner said on Friday that the midfielder is fit to feature, either from the start or as a substitute.

Schlager has returned to full training following a brief absence. Werner highlighted his strong pre-injury form and noted that his comeback reinforces Leipzig’s central midfield at an important stage of the season.

Assan Ouedraogo is also back in training, but this weekend comes too soon for the youngster.

Leipzig remain without Peter Gulacsi and Kosta Nedeljkovic.
