Scotty Sinclair urges Celtic’s record signing to respond to criticism | OneFootball

Former Celtic favourite Scotty Sinclair has given Celtic record signing Kasper Hogh a few words of advice as he faces some flak after a difficult start to life in Scotland…

Despite registering an impressive hat trick against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, the Dane has failed to find the net on his other outings, with supporters now starting to question his ability, but Scotty Sinclair says that is part and parcel of playing for Scotland’s biggest and most successful club.

Sinclair, who was an Invincible treble winner in his debut campaign at Celtic, and boasted a record of 62 goals in 167 appearances for the Hoops, has backed the big striker to recover and win over the supporters due to his natural proven ability.

The former Chelsea and Aston Villa man also reckons his huge price tag isn’t helping matters.

The Celtic legend said: “I think that’s what comes with the price tag.

“I think when you come in for that money, you’ve got to hit the ground running. And also, the fans expect you to be scoring every single week, not just now and then.”

He continued: “This is the pressure of playing for Celtic. And when you’re not scoring and not doing as well as the fans would like, they’re going to let you know.”

Despite his current woes, Sinclair has confidence in the big strikers ability to get through his challenging period.

He added “With his stature and the player he is, I’m sure he will overcome that and make sure he keeps scoring goals and keeps creating chances,” he said as reported by STV.

“The main thing is the team winning games, and if he can help that, I’m sure he’ll get the fans back onside. But as I said, part and parcel of playing for the biggest team in Scotland, you’re going to get the criticism.

“However, you’ve got to ride with it and make sure you perform every week.”
