Brighton & Hove Albion put in a strong away performance to move up to fifth in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest knew they were going to have a hard time at home to the Seagulls and Sean Dyche's side had to soak up pressure early on.

The visitors chose their moment to open the scoring well though netting just before half-time. Yankuba Minteh's pass found Maxim De Cuyper free in the penalty area with only Matz Sels to beat and the Belgian made no mistake.

Forest tried to get back on level terms in the second period with Igor Jesus forcing Bart Verbruggen into a fine save but a late goal eventually sealed the result.

Defender Morato looked to clean up at the back but his header only caused a mix-up with Stéfanos Tzímas able to take advantage and make it 2-0.

That result sees Brighton continue to quietly edge up the table ahead of a midweek clash with Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Forest are still one point above the drop zone and face a trip to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.
