Hoffenheim are reportedly close to signing 21-year-old centre-back Sean Dulic from 1860 Munich, with the Bavarian club’s licensing turmoil meaning he could move for free.

Sky Germany reports that a medical is scheduled for Wednesday and that Dulic is set to sign until June 2031. Schalke 04 were also interested, but Hoffenheim offered the stronger proposal.

A Munich native, Dulic has been at 1860 since childhood and broke into the first team in 2024/25. His emergence prompted a contract extension last year.

The crisis at 1860 has escalated. The club was denied a licence for the 2026/27 3. Liga after failing to provide financial guarantees, forcing a drop into the Bavarian Regionalliga.

Amid that uncertainty, Hoffenheim have moved quickly. Because of the licensing situation, Dulic could depart without a fee, allowing the Bundesliga side to secure a highly rated prospect at no cost.
