Nottingham Forest have officially announced Sean Dyche as the club's new manager, with the 54-year-old replacing Ange Postecoglou.

The appointment is Forest's third permanent manager of the season following the early sacking of Nuno Espírito Santo and Postecoglou's ill-fated brief spell.

Forest have confirmed that Dyche has penned a deal to keep him at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Dyche began his playing career at Forest as a part of the club's youth system but never made a first team appearance before leaving to join Chesterfield. Indeed, the former Burnley and Everton's connection to the club helped him land the job.

"As a former Forest youth player who lives locally, Dyche also has a deep understanding of the values and pride of Forest and its supporters," the club said in its statement.

"With his character, tactical acumen and man-management skills, his appointment represents the best opportunity for a successful and competitive season across both domestic and European competitions."

Dyche will also be joined by Ian Woan and Steve Stone who both have previously played for the club.

This will be Dyche's first managerial job since being sacked by Everton last season. During his time with the Toffees he oversaw 84 games with the club, with a record of 26 wins, 26 draws, and 32 defeats.

The Reds are next in action on Thursday as they host Porto in the Europa League with the Portuguese side currently top of their respective league.
