Nottingham Forest still cannot put a timescale on Chris Wood’s return, with Sean Dyche saying the striker remains under assessment.

According to Nottingham Post, Dyche told his press conference there is no clear idea yet when Wood will be back.

Last season’s 29-goal top scorer has been out since mid-October with a knee problem. He will see a specialist for a follow-up scan that Dyche thought might be on Thursday, or by the end of this week or early next week.

The manager stressed it is a check-up and that progress has been positive so far.

Dyche added that goalkeeper John Victor will undergo a scan after being injured against Aston Villa, which rules him out of Friday’s FA Cup tie with Wrexham.

He said blood had been drained from Victor’s knee but it has not settled as quickly as hoped, so the more in-depth scan will check for anything untoward.
