Shelbourne FC is delighted to announce that Belfast boy Sean Moore has agreed to prolong his stay at Tolka Park by signing a contract extension with the club.
The former West Ham player first joined the Reds in July of 2025 however injury was to plague the start to life at his new club. Undeterred, the former Republic of Ireland U21 player applied himself to his recovery and the Shelbourne faithful have now begun to see the results of what a fit Sean Moore has to offer. Eye-catching European goals against Nomme Kalju and the mighty Ajax Amsterdam have dove-tailed with ever-improving domestic displays from the young man who has only just turned 21. Now fit and firing, the exciting wide-player is eager to kick on even more at Tolka Park.
Speaking to ShelsTV Sean said: “I am really happy to have renewed my contract and to be staying here at Shelbourne FC. I have loved my time at the club so far and I’m looking forward to the future. I am enjoying my football now and it’s up to me to continue working hard. I am very hopeful that we can achieve some great things together.”
Speaking on the re-signing his manager John Russell told us: “Sean is a player whom I have massive belief in. He has outstanding ability, and I genuinely believe that his ceiling is really high. We’ve already seen glimpses of what he can produce and his performances in recent week, especially in Europe, have shown the quality he has. Sean is still a young player and there is plenty more to come from him. He’s had some setbacks with injuries, but what has impressed me is his attitude and his desire to keep pushing himself and to keep improving.” Russell added: “From a manager’s point of view, you want players who are hungry to develop and who want to contribute to the team, and Sean has certainly shown that. He gives us another dimension in the attacking areas and I’m really looking forward to working with him, and to help him reach his potential. Keeping a player of Sean’s quality at Shelbourne is a really positive step for the club. We are delighted that he has committed his future to us, and hopefully this is only the beginning of a really successful period for him here.”
Shelbourne FC Technical Director Luke Byrne added: “Sean is an extremely talented young player who has big potential. He has had to be patient and work hard in the past 12 months, but we are now seeing the player we knew he could be. He will continue to grow, develop and improve under John and I know that he has a bright future. We are delighted that his future is here at Shels.”
