Fenerbahce have denied interest in Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirovic, with Sebastian Hoeneß irritated by reports linking his player to the Istanbul club.
The club said on Saturday morning that claims they want Demirovic are completely unfounded and that no transfer approach has been made.
"I was irritated and, to be honest, annoyed by some of what was written," the 44-year-old told Bild. "My goal is always to have the best players at VfB and Medo is one of our best players."
Earlier, Sky reported Fenerbahce had targeted Demirovic and that his future at Stuttgart was open, with VfB prepared to sell for 15 to 20 million euros. The report added Dzenan Pejcinovic was lined up from relegated VfL Wolfsburg.
Sky also said Demirovic, contracted until 2028, is not currently considering a move and feels settled in Stuttgart. Juventus and Leeds United were likewise named as admirers.
Fenerbahce also rejected talk of a Rafael Leao bid, saying reports of a package worth around 100 million euros, including fee and salary, were untrue and that no offer was made to the player or Milan.
Gazzetta dello Sport had suggested a huge offer. At the end of May Leao, contracted until 2028, said, "I am proud that I was able to make history at Milan, but I want to open a new chapter in my career," he told Sport TV.
