Sébastien Pocognoli ‘could be named’ Scotland manager

According to The Herald, former Monaco coach Sébastien Pocognoli could be appointed Scotland manager.

The Scottish Football Association has compiled a shortlist to replace Steve Clarke, who left at the end of June, with Pocognoli considered the leading option.

The 39-year-old Belgian departed Monaco in June. He had arrived in October to succeed Adi Hütter and finished seventh in Ligue 1.

Scotland’s next fixture is on 26 September against Slovenia in the Nations League.

Any appointment would see him take charge at national-team level.
