Dynamo Dresden host VfL Bochum in Saturday’s Second Bundesliga Topspiel, with both sides level on points after stuttering starts and seeking a reset.
According to BuLi News, Dresden have one win from three and sit 16th on three points after last season’s fraught return that ended with final-day survival.
Their last outing brought a 5-3 defeat at Heidenheim. Down to 10 men, they led 2-1 with under 15 minutes left before conceding four in 14 minutes, Jonas Sterner scoring late in stoppage time. Thomas Stamm has prioritised set-piece work and says a top display is needed against a solid, quicker Bochum.
Deadline day loans added Patrice Covic and Kennedy Okpala. Thomas Keller is suspended, while Christoph Daferner, Lars Bünning, Kenneth Schmidt and Till Neininger remain out.
Bochum also have one win from three, edging above Dresden on goal difference, with both defeats by a single goal. They lost 1-0 at home to newly promoted Osnabrück, dominating but turning 20 shots into one on target as Ismael Badjie’s fourth-minute strike decided it. Uwe Rösler wants courage, selective high pressing, energy and a different approach, plus a healthy share of possession.
The visitors added defender Sean Klaiber on a free, plus Charlie Patino from Deportivo La Coruña and Jarne Steuckers from Genk on loan. Babis Drakas and Jean Manuel Mbom are out, Koji Miyoshi trained today and is fully fit, and the rest are available.
Dresden won both meetings last season, 2-1 away then 2-0 at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion in April. Bochum’s last win here was in 2020 when Vitaly Janelt struck late in a 2-1.
