Marseille’s 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain in Le Classique was a euphoric moment for supporters at the Vélodrome, but full time saw ugly scenes as the stadium’s security staff clash with the visiting players on the pitch – according to Le Parisien, and L’Équipe.Videos circulating on social media show one security agent attempting to slap PSG defender Lucas Beraldo before being pushed away by Matt O’Riley. Marquinhos, Fabián Ruiz, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes were also caught up in the scuffle. The trigger for the altercation remains unclear, although L’Équipe also report that OM’s security staff had been particularly confrontational throughout the evening.The situation quickly de-escalated after Marseille players intervened, allowing them to celebrate with their supporters. PSG have not commented on the incident, while OM’s sporting director Mehdi Benatia sought to downplay events post-match, telling reporters in the mixed zone attended by Get French Football News: “I was in the stands, I just heard there was some tension, some dispute.
