Bild reports that Stuttgart's goalkeeper decision is narrowing to a job-share, with Dennis Seimen to handle Bundesliga fixtures and Fabian Bredlow earmarked for the DFB-Pokal and possibly the next Champions League game against Slovan Bratislava.
Seimen has returned from a hamstring injury and is expected to rejoin the fold. There is ongoing debate inside the club over whether he is ready or whether to keep faith with Bredlow for now.
On Thursday he returned to action for the first time since the 7-0 friendly win over TSG Balingen in mid-July.
In Aspach, Stuttgart beat Greuther Fürth 5-0 in a friendly, with Seimen recording a clean sheet.
The club are still weighing how to allocate duties across competitions.
