Senegal’s football federation has raised serious concerns about the organisation of Sunday’s AFCON 2025 final against Morocco in Rabat, scheduled for 20:00. The federation said in a statement that issues identified before the game had prompted significant unease.
It cited a lack of adequate security provision for the team’s arrival at Rabat’s railway station, arguing that the current plans could expose players and staff to risks that do not meet the standards of a tournament of this scale.
The federation has also informed CAF it will not train at the Complexe Mohammed VI, which it considers the opponents’ base, raising concerns over sporting fairness. It added that it had not yet received details of an alternative training site for the Lions of Teranga.
Ticketing was another flashpoint. While allocations were secured within CAF quotas, 300 in Category 1, 850 in Category 2 and 1,700 in Category 3, the federation deemed those numbers far short of demand among its supporters.
In response, it urged CAF and the local organising committee to implement immediate corrective measures to ensure fair play, equal treatment and safety, which it views as essential to the successful staging of the final.
