In a surprising turn of events, the anticipated move has been called off. Despite weeks of persistent announcements from Turkey, and as first revealed by Africafoot, Fodé Ballo-Touré's career path will not lead him away from France after all. The 28-year-old left-back has instead chosen to continue his journey within Ligue 1.

Following a six-month loan spell at Le Havre in the latter half of the 2024/25 season, where he made ten appearances, the Senegalese international has now found a new home. FC Metz made his arrival official this Tuesday, announcing the signing of the defender until June 2026 in a post on their official X account.

Having honed his skills at Paris Saint-Germain, made his mark at Lille, and embraced the challenge of AC Milan, Ballo-Touré now embarks on a new chapter with Les Grenats. His extensive experience at the highest level, both in club football and on the international stage, will serve as a valuable asset for a Metz side seeking defensive stability and resilience.

The 2022 Africa Cup of Nations champion will now aim to revitalize his career by establishing himself as a key figure in the Metz dressing room, while contributing his energetic presence along the left flank.
